DDGC Antifascist Research Cooperative (ARC)

The Antifascist Research Cooperative (ARC) is a DDGC initiative dedicated to understanding and dismantling today’s resurgent far-right movements. Grounded in intersectional and coalitional approaches, ARC brings together educators, scholars, activists, and community members who share a commitment to antifascist values. By examining contemporary fascist ideologies and tactics—from disinformation and social media radicalization to racialized forms of oppression and violence (including anti-Muslim racism and antisemitism) and attacks on queer/trans communities—ARC challenges the notion that fascism is merely a twentieth-century phenomenon. Instead, we center the urgent struggles of our present moment, highlighting how white-supremacist and far-right ideologies adapt to new political, cultural, and digital landscapes. We aim to build sustaining networks of solidarity and a toolkit for confronting far-right agendas wherever they appear.

ARC emphasizes collaboration and public scholarship. We facilitate:

  • Reading & Discussion Groups on recent works that analyze modern-day extremism and the global far right;

  • Workshops on Antifascist Pedagogy, sharing tools and strategies for teaching against hate in the classroom and beyond;

  • Public-Facing Panels connecting scholars, educators, and community organizers to explore collective strategies for resisting authoritarian ideologies.

We welcome participants from all disciplinary backgrounds, career stages, and types of institutions (including independent scholars and K–12 educators). Whether you are a seasoned researcher, new to antifascist scholarship, or an engaged community member, ARC provides a supportive environment to co-create and exchange resources and mentor one another.
